Pioneer Pocket Hotel

This was a rather interesting stay… The bedroom and living room were beautifully clean. I however found a ton of hair in the bathtub which is a deal breaker for me. The bed was luxuriously soft. The window needs better coverage so that it truly blacks out all light. The reason I booked this place was because a review said it had been utter silence… So imagine our surprise waking up at 2:00 am to furniture being arranged in the room next to us followed by a loooonnnnggg and lusty session of ohhhh’s, yesss and mmmm’s. I’m fairly certain someone booked it to record certain activities as it lasted from 2:00 am to 4:30 am and the sounds that came through the vent were rather unnatural. I’m leaving a 4 star review because it wasn’t the hotels fault as I’m sure they’re not aware of what rooms are booked for but it made for a rather long night. We had no issues with the check in process. It would however have been nice to have a front desk to call to interrupt whatever was going on in the room next door even though they sounded quite happy with their night activities. The restaurant was amazing and the customer service was spot on. Edited to add we stayed in the Country Roots suite.

I cannot say enough great things about this gem of a hotel! The service was wonderful, as were the rooms. Very comfortable beds, spacious and beautiful rooms, and bathrooms. It was so nice and clean. We have, now, found our go-to place to stay when we are in Lubbock!

We had a great experience at the hotel. Decided to stay an extra night and received a discounted rate. The room was nice and clean with a very comfortable king-size bed. The wine refrigerator and microwave were handy, and a large bathroom with high-quality shampoo and conditioner was much appreciated. Some rooms may have a view of downtown but the Vineyard room does not, which was not a big deal to us. The best part of our stay was having a topnotch restaurant and brewery in the same building. The staff at both places were super friendly and knowledgeable. As far as not having hotel management on-site, we did not experience any difficulties. Check-in and out was simple and efficient. Any questions we had were answered quickly by text. We definitely recommend the hotel for a nice, quiet getaway!

stumbled across this little boutique hotel by accident what a gym. The restaurant was amazing, we had rack of lamb and a wedge salad. The room was very comfortable roommate and well appointed the bed and linens were very comfortable, and they offered multiple toiletries and towels, more than your major chain hotels. The girl that helped us check in was very polite and very helpful. Definitely a place I would recommend.

I loved the room! It had comfortable beds, nice bathroom, nice seating area, and they left us little things in bathroom we might have forgotten. No breakfast offered. There is no check in area. You get texts and emails for that process. In your check in email there should be a number to call. The kind lady helped me understand process, since it was a day early to check in. They want to make sure room is ready at time you will arrive. There is no little shop some hotels have, so come prepared. My daughter and I found area walkable, after you leave pioneer building. (Sidewalk blocked and construction nearby) We walked to concert.

We stayed in the Mac Davis Suite. This is a hybrid condo and hotel. There is no formal desk for hotel check-in, but there is an office during working hours. We checked in late in the evening after a long drive. The instructions and codes for the suite were accurate and easy to follow. Instructions for parking could have been better, but we figured it easily enough. There was a great information sheet on amenities and nearby businesses that could provide what we needed. The suite was clean and as advertised. We could hear activity in the hallway, but it wasn't bad. There were TV monitors in both the sitting area and opposite the bed. The bed was super comfy. My only complaint about the bed is that an extra blanket might have been nice, as it was winter. It felt very good to stay in a downtown location in a building with history in the Lubbock area. It was lovely to see young energy in this part of Lubbock and I sincerely hope that effort continues. I loved that it was close to the Buddy Holly Center and the bricked roads. My husband loved the Lubbock Brewery downstairs. Lubbock deserves a beautiful downtown district.

Great automated hotel experience. I used to live in Lubbock and visit usually once a year or so. I’ve stayed at a wide variety of hotels, and Pioneer Pocket remains my favorite. A great location with everything you might need in the building - a restaurant, coffee shop and convenience store. Downtown Lubbock is only one small part of the city’s overall experience and Lubbock is not a walking friendly city in general so I always recommend a car to explore. The check in process was easy. The hotel reached out via text to confirm details and to give me general updates leading up to my arrival. Check in details were clear and easy to follow. Things were very clearly marked! I stayed in the most basic room and it was perfect. The exact quality of anything at over more expensive hotels in the area. The room itself was clean, had waters, coffee, and a wide variety of toiletries. The bed was comfortable and the room was very cool when I arrived in the middle of summer. The hotel floor had a vending machine with drinks and snacks. Check out was super simple as well, and I have no issues with the process. Looking forward to my next stay at Pioneer Pocket next time I am in town.

Very limited parking, we had to circle the hotel 3 times to finally get a spot, the rooms were large and decorated very well, but the sound proofing wasn’t great so there a bit of road noise, the shower was small which was odd for such a large bathroom. Great sheets and towels and the bed was very comfortable, the restaurant in foyer had really great food. There is no contact with anyone to check in or out, it’s all don’t via your phone. The ⭐⭐⭐ for service was because there wasn’t really anyone to rate, check in was easy as was check out but if you have an issue there isn’t anyone to speak to except via text.
